BEFORE I AM RENDERED INVISIBLE by Ros Martin

A launch event for Ros Martins new book, featuring music from Alphonse Daudet Touna

Waterstones, the Galleries, Broadmead

6:30pm, Saturday October 22, 2022

‘As I grow old, I ask myself; am I to disappear into obscurity like others before me, and the truth of black and socially marginalised people’s struggles and achievements remain invisible or obscured?

Pushing out from the margins, this book celebrates DIY activism in an anthology of spoken word play, social commentary and memoir, that elucidates the past and ongoing struggle in our midst. It sets out to remind us we have always been a people of struggle and resistance, taking inspiration from those who have gone before.

Ros’ words are unassuming on the surface, but a prolific reflection of the diasporic and the displaced. This bard tells multiple stories in a simple song. A quilt of transcendental memories.’

Writer and Editor, Femi Morgan
